Chuseok and Conferences

This week was so great!!! General Conference, zone conference and 전도! (proselyting!) First off, General Conference was sooo good!!!! On Saturday, we sat down and watched 6 hours straight. Literally probably the shortest 6 hours of my life, it was so good and flew by!!! And Sunday was just as good!!! I won't say much other than that. But I'll invite all of you to watch/rewatch/reread it because it was so good (: This week we also had a zone conference down in 수원 [Suwon] and that was great!! There's also a really awesome fort/palace down there too!! (I got some really cool pictures there, but again the pictures problem... I'll try and send them later!! (: )

추석 [Chuseok Holiday] was amazing!!! It was hard to proselyte because there was nobody around but we had dinner with a member and that was so much fun!!! And it was delicious!! My companion also got to skype on that day too because it's one of the biggest holidays here and it was fun. I saw one of my MTC friends, Elder Sayer (in the Pusan mission) in the background because he was at their house for dinner.

Anyways, so many miracles this week. The Lords hand is truly in our lives and missionary work. One experience we had is that we were on our way to the church to do weekly planning (instead of at home like we usually do) and we started a conversation with one man and invited him to our church to learn more, where we taught him the restoration! ahhh!!! Super great!! And just a lot of things like that where God has placed prepared people in our paths. Also, God has taken my simple Korean and honestly not very good skills at proselyting and speaking and made them so much more as I've tried my hardest. I truly know that God loves us, and as we do our best He will make it so much more than what we could ever do. God is real. His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, died for us and knows us perfectly. Don't ever be afraid to turn to them for strength and peace. I love this work and I love all of you!!!

Love, Elder Lott

Question of the week: Do you do most of your own cooking, or do members feed you? Do you eat from food carts or restaurants very often?

Answer: I've heard it depends a lot on where you serve here, but where I am it's a pretty even mix. The members are amazing at feeding us, we make some of our own food (mostly different types of fried rice and kimchi, yum!), but we often go out. When we're out proselyting it's quicker to just pop in a restaurant. With investigators and members, it's a lot more common to go out. Oh! Speaking of food, I don't know if I mentioned this before or not but 네네칙긴 [Nene Chicken] is amazing!!! haha but a little expensive, and can really make you fat fast. So there's actually a mission rule from Sister Turner on how often we can eat it, haha. So good though. Korean food is amazing!! I honestly don't remember the names of a lot of it but it's sooooo good!!!

AHHHH I wish I could send some of the pictures I have, but I can't again this week. (I figured out the problem though and should be able to next week but nothing before this week will be able to be sent... which is sad because I have so many good pictures from the past week!!!! ahhhh oh well. I'll keep on trying to send them later.)

[Found these two pictures on the Mission President's blog for this week.  What a blessing that we still are able see pictures of Elder Lott even when he can't get his own to upload. 😊 koreaseoulsouthmission.blogspot.com]
