Revelation for our Personal Lives

Image
So this week was an amazing week lead by inspiration from God on the daily basis. I cannot explain all the miracles, but it was a great week! We met with a lot of potential investigators. I'm going to send a lot of pictures so this part will be short, but I know God has called a prophet on the earth today and he is President Russell M Nelson and that God truly does call his leaders by revelation. I also know that we can receive revelation for personal lives and for the responsibilities we are called to bear and God is just pouring it down upon us. All we have to do is listen. I love you all and hope you have a great week! Love Elder Lott Question of the Week: What's the dominant shoe brand in Korea? (Nike in US, Adidas in Europe.... what's big in Asia?) Answer: Hmm, probably Adidas because of soccer. But there's a lot of other brands here that are popular too, like Decent and New Balance is actually a cool brand here too, haha. It's fun to see the diff...

A Visit from Elder Stevenson

Image
So this week had a few great things!! An apostle visit ( Elder Stevenson ), interviews with President, and exchanges back with one of my old comps, Elder Jo!!! Haha, super fun, super great week! Not much to report. Just a few funny things happened this week, one of them being the Jehovah Witness missionaries coming and proselyting to us at our apartment after soccer on Saturday morning. It was pretty funny because we just got back and I was wearing regular clothes because we had just done soccer, so I opened the door and just talked nicely because it's the exact same thing we do. So I just nicely told them I wasn't interested and that I had a religion of my own and then they finally noticed my name tag (I guess it must have blended in with my soccer clothes or something, haha). But it was just interesting to be on the other side of it for a second, haha. But with the Elder Stevenson visit, me and my comp actually got to go see him twice!! Because we had the one with the m...

We Are Children of God

Image
This week was great with a few small great stories!! First, I've got a good would you rather question: Would you rather not have a phone or only know half of the password and have other person know the other half and you can't tell each other? Haha, that's just something funny that I'll probably explain later. Another fun thing that happened this week was at a district proselyting activity. So here in Korea, we're going to start a new English program so to get some hype for it, we went as a district to do some English stickerboading. So we were doing that and Elder Jo (my old companion) asks some kids to stick a sticker in English and then they say no, so I step up and say in Korean "Well if you don't want to stick a sticker then do yo want to guess where my friend is from (pointing to Elder Jo)" because a lot of people don't think he's from Korea anymore because he's so good at English and a few other reasons. Anyways, Elder Jo picks ...

I love 시걸 !

Image
Well this week was fun!! New area! New comp! For those who didn't know I'm in 김포 [ Gimpo/Kim-po ] now!! One of the most 시걸 [ rural ] areas in the mission!! Heck yeah!! Let's go!!! I love 시걸 [ countryside/seaside ]!! Small wards!! Hours of bus rides!! And really nice people even if there's not a ton of people (: It's pretty great! This week was spent adjusting and getting to know a lot of the investigators and members and recent convert so that was fun!! I'm looking forward to working here for a while! (: We also have some islands in our area so that'll be fun to go to those (: maybe haha. I'm sorry not much this week but I love you all!! Here's some pictures!! Love you!! Elder Lott Question of the Week: Are South Koreans patriotic? In the US, you often see flags flying on homes, businesses and schools, as well as printed on clothes, bedding or paper products. Do you see many South Korean flags displayed? Answer: Yeah, they are pretty ...

Leaving Bucheon

Image
This last week we got transfer calls!! And to my surprise I'm moving again!! (: to 김포 [Gimpo] with Elder Gill!! It's going to be tons of fun!!! We lived together when he was a greenie when I was in 신갈 [Icheon] with Elder Jo so we already know each other a bit and he's a great guy so I'm looking forward to this next transfer! (: This past week was pretty great though. We were busy all week meeting tons of new and old people, throw in an exchange with the ap's, and a ward party/karaoke night and you've got a pretty darn busy week! Haha, so one fun story, we've been meeting this one kid [B] for a while and he's a bit shy and likes his skateboard and reading books and learning about science and that kind of stuff. Not really the guy to branch out and talk to a lot of people. But we invited him to the ward party anyways. So here in Korea (if you didn't already know this) karaoke is huge! So throughout the night there had been people getting up in fron...

Walk in Faith

Image
So a pretty basic but great week here in 부천 [Bucheon] (don't know if I've said this before but the 부boo 자jaw 富 makes it so the city's name in English is Bountiful haha, cool fact)! First had live(ish) octopus haha and it was pretty good! Met with all of our progressing investigators at different times this week which was also great! hmm I don't know it was all just an ordinary week haha so I don't know if I have a lot to say.... This week though upon a few questions from investigators I have had to study deeper into the plan of salvation than I have before, and it has really deepened my testimony that we are God's children, and He loves us! We don't understand every little detail now but we don't need to, we have enough and if we walk in faith learning what we need to learn little by little we will make our way back and everything will become clear. I testify the Jesus is the Christ the Messiah and Savior promised to the Israelite's, the Nephite...

Korea is really getting blessed with love and attention from the Lord

Image
Another power packed amazing week!! So if you read back in my emails, I talked about a Mongolian member that we met and showed him where the church was and through a few of 하나님의 주신 [God's giving] miracles were able to talk with him. (If I didn't write about that to everybody, I know I wrote about it to some of you haha.) Anyways we had dinner with him, and he made us some Mongolian food and it was amazing!! But better than that was just meeting with him and reading the scriptures with him. We aren't able to really communicate with him super well, but as we read the Book of Mormon together (him in Mongolian and us in Korean because he believes that as he hears and listens to the Korean he'll learn the language faster, which I can testify from my personal experience that that does work) and talked about it and his family the sweet spirit that filled his humble one room apartment is definitely an experience that I will hold in my heart and never forget. Then the next d...
