When Did it Get So Cold!?

Image
If I were to say one worldly thing about this last week it would be "When did it get so cold!!!???". Just in the past week it has gotten freezing here!!! Well, it's not actually that cold, but the wind is crazy! You'll be standing there talking with someone and be perfectly fine, and then a breeze comes along and BRRRRR it gets super cold!! But it's ok, it has just made me appreciate sweaters and 호 떡 's (an amazing little pancake thing that is filled with cinnamon sugar and fried!!! ahh sooo good!) a lot more!! Save Korean Sweet Pancake – Hotteok/Hodduck (호떡) [ Mom note: You have to check out this amazing lady's blog, which includes this recipe:  https://kimchimari.com/hotteok-korean-pancake/ ] Also this week was stake conference for the 서울 남 (Seoul Nam) stake, and I got to sing in the choir and that was cool. This week we definitely saw God's hand guiding the work again. For example, we were on our way to do stickerboarding (a fu

Beautiful Plan Full of Happiness

Another great week!! (Gosh I say that a lot haha, but that's good I guess!). This week my comp and I really focused on finding people that would receive us and our message, truly loving people, and showing it (especially to members). And we have seen so many miracles because of it. Not always connected to those efforts but I know God has blessed us in so many different ways because of our efforts in those areas. One such miracle happened on Sunday. Elder 추 just texted someone from forever ago and invited him to church. And he came!!! to all three hours!! and liked it!! He is amazing!!! He has an open mind and wants to learn and so much more than I can say because I want to move on to another thing. This week I was talking with an older missionary that I really respect and as we were talking, the conversation turned to the topic of pride. And it went really deep and ahhh it was amazing! I can't do it justice, but pretty much to sum it up it is that sometimes pride isn't j

Sweet Hour of Prayer

Image
I would like to start off this week just saying how amazing prayer is!!!! Prayer is something I definitely took for granted before the mission, but as I've been out here and had experiences that have brought me before the Lord frequently and humbly, I have come to realize just how amazing it is. AND it works! Through prayer we can feel God's love and guidance and gain peace and can call upon His help for ourselves and others. I know that prayer is definitely a huge blessing to me and to all of us. This week I would like to invite all of you that are reading this to listen to the hymn Sweet Hour of Prayer and ponder about how you can make your prayers more sincere and meaningful and do it. God is our loving Father and He wants to hear from us. And I don't think He cares how small or trivial something may be, He wants to hear about it from us. He truly loves us perfectly and will always reach out to us as we reach out to Him. Also during this week transfers happened, but s

Chuseok and Conferences

Image
This week was so great!!! General Conference , zone conference and 전도! (proselyting!) First off, General Conference was sooo good!!!! On Saturday, we sat down and watched 6 hours straight. Literally probably the shortest 6 hours of my life, it was so good and flew by!!! And Sunday was just as good!!! I won't say much other than that. But I'll invite all of you to watch/rewatch/reread it because it was so good (: This week we also had a zone conference down in 수원 [ Suwon ] and that was great!! There's also a really awesome fort/palace down there too!! (I got some really cool pictures there, but again the pictures problem... I'll try and send them later!! (: ) 추석 [ Chuseok Holiday ] was amazing!!! It was hard to proselyte because there was nobody around but we had dinner with a member and that was so much fun!!! And it was delicious!! My companion also got to skype on that day too because it's one of the biggest holidays here and it was fun. I saw one of my MTC frie

Diligence is Key

Image
This week was so good! Hard but good! Probably one of the most important things I leaned from this week is that diligence is key and the Gospel is simple, we don't need to make it complicated. For the diligence thing, at least twice that I can remember we were almost home and we met amazing people right outside our apartment!! This week is a huge Korean holiday called   주슥   I probably spelled that wrong.. which is apparently like our Thanksgiving, but even bigger here.  [Mom note: this is what I could find about the holiday: 추석 (秋夕) Chuseok 15th day of 8th lunar month Also called  Han-gawi  ( Hangul :  한가위 ). Korean traditional harvest festival. With Korean New Year, it is one of the most important Korean traditional holidays. As a celebration of the good harvest, Koreans visit their ancestral hometowns and feast on traditional food. Chuseok (October 3-5, 2017) Chuseok is one of the year's most important traditional holidays. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the e
