D&C 109

Image
Mom Note: I wrote that I was excited for him to go back to the temple this week after it was closed the past two weeks for cleaning. The temple was amazing!!!!!! It was so nice to go and do a session again. Also while I was in there I read D&C 109 (the section where my mission scripture is from) and it was sooo good. This week was another good one. I've definitely made some progress but I've also got a long ways to go too. In sacrament I was able to understand most of the talks (all in Korean). Every day I feel the spirit and my testimony grows (especially of the Gift of tongues .) But also of Christ. I've done a lot of my personal study on Christ and the Atonement this week and it all was amazing. Fun story! The branch presidency was doing departure interviews yesterday for the group that's leaving in a week and President Facer came up to me and almost took me in to do one for me! But then at the last minute he remembered I still had a few weeks. I was so cl

The Spirit

This week had several amazing experiences. First off I've gotten to know all of the Korean Elders a lot more and I truly love them all as much as I love Elder Jo (the only native Korean when I arrived at the MTC who now is in the mission field in my misson!!!). They are amazing people and so humble and kind.  Second, Elder Kellis and I had the opportunity to interview all the district leaders this weekend and those were amazing!! I felt the spirit through every one! It's amazing how we all come from different backgrounds and even though we don't all speak the same language (we got to interview the Korean district leaders alone without an interpreter) the spirit trancends that and we are so united in this work! Ahh I love them all!  Another amazing experience happened in one of our lessons this past week. We taught our first lesson to a new investigator and we had been studying how we could better teach and be in tune with the spirit earlier this week and it was jus

Amazing Week!

This week has been another amazing one! I don't think there's a such thing as a bad week but this one has still been amazing! The language is really coming. It really started to come after we had an English fast in my district and since then I've been doing a lot better with Korean! We get a new group of missionaries this week which will be so fun! Especially since my companion and I are zone leaders so tomorrow we have to stay up and wait until the Korean missionaries get here so we can take them to their rooms. Plus on Wednesday we get to meet all of the new Elders and Sisters and give them a brief orientation and do some other stuff. It'll be fun! I'd just like to end this email by bearing my testimony that I know God loves us , we are His children. Christ died for us and loves us too and if we rely on Him and his atonement we can make it through any trial big or small. Love, Elder Lott Question of the Week: What is your favorite p-day activity? Ether 12

This week has been another great one. First off, Sundays are the best! They're so busy but they really are amazing!! I now understand what it means to feast on the words of Christ and delight in fatness. Also on the suggestion of several people that are close to me I studied Ether 12 this week. Literally one chapter for hours. It is amazing. I just went along slowly unpacking each verse and pondered and thought about how to apply it and I made cross references to the bible and other places and it was just amazing. If you have time this week definitely take a look at it and just go through it slowly. I also wrote my first only Korean talk yesterday and practiced in front of one of the branch presidency so I might be giving it next week, we'll see. I'll let you know! Elders in my Zone. (Our zone is small right now with only 30 something people but will grow to almost 80 next week.) Elder White mattress wrestling Everyone going to Seoul

Back to School

Hey mom! Things are going great here! The spirit is so strong here and it is an amazing place! That being said, I don't think I've had a harder few days ever but I've never had any as spiritually satisfying either. My companion is Elder Kellis, he is the most awesome guy! He was here before and is back now so he knows what he's doing and knows a lot of Korean which is really nice because he then helps me with just about everything. My district is amazing too. There are two other sets of elders (and all but one doesn't already know some Korean like me) and two sets of sisters. There's another new group too but I'll have to talk about everybody later because I'm short on time and there's other stuff I want to get to. Such as, The gift of tongues is real!! But it is after all we can do that the Lord will bless us. After the second day and our first lesson (all in Korean) I was feeling really low. But I poured out my heart to God pleading with him
