Missionary Miracles

Image
This week has definitely been one that has been guided by God. Simply a lot of things went well, and I got a lot of answers to prayers. (Thank you to all of you that are praying for me and missionary work! You are the best! And the reason I'm getting to see so many miracles out here!). But there were definitely some hard experiences too. One of them being saying goodbye to one of my best friends out here... We started meeting him about 2-3 months ago and we knew from the beginning that this was going to happen, but it's still hard. He's going to college today so we met him for the last time last week. We just talked and reminisced about the good times we had and talked about what we had both learned while meeting. And thanks to technology he was able to be introduced to the missionaries where he is going, and feels a lot more comfortable meeting them in the future. I'm going to be honest, it was probably the most cliche reminiscing scene you've ever seen, and it

God has a Sense of Humor

Miracles this week are in abundance!! First off, God has a sense of humor. Mom, Dad, you know that family history was a struggle for me. I really did not like it. RootsTech was the worst young men's activity in my mind back in the day. But with that said, now I'm actually starting to like it. And here's why: simply it is the tool that God has given to me to help someone I love (and their family) come closer to Him. With this person it has literally been the only thing to get him to open up to missionaries, but through it we have been able to bring the spirit to our meetings more than I could have imagined at our first meeting. And now because of him and God, I'm now making my own 족보 [  pedigree  ] for my family. I'm so sorry if this part is so unorganized and scattered, I'm a bit emotional about this topic and this family and man and words aren't enough to describe it and the love of God I get to feel for them. So let's just say God opened up some doo

Peace in This Life

So this week we got transfer calls! I'm staying, and getting a new companion tomorrow, Elder Ross. I got to serve around him a bit when I was in Seoul, and he's a great guy so I'm excited to work with him. I'm sad to say goodbye to Elder Forthman though, but he's only going one area over so not that far (well actually it is pretty far when you're in 이천 [ Icheon ] and one area over is half the mission away, haha).  Other than that, this week was a pretty basic week in missionary life (: Yesterday was stake conference and that was really good! Yep, I don't know what I should really share this week so I guess I'll just share my simple testimony that I know God lives, this is His church, His Son Jesus Christ is our Savior. Through His atonement, we can become clean and receive the strength we need to overcome any difficulty in life. As we strive to serve others as Christ would, we can feel the spirit more strongly and feel God's love for everyone and

The Book of Mormon has Power

This week was good!! Finally started being able to go outside with the records done!! Heck yeah!! It was super cold though, so there weren't that many people out. They were all very smartly inside. Especially in the pc rooms . Haha a good amount of the people we ran into were going from one pc room to another because the first one was full. But that's ok, the people we did talk to this week were so great! It's almost as if God understood that we wouldn't be seeing a ton of people so he decided to make the ones we did extra special! This week had several expericences with super long conversations on the street or on the train and that were really good meaningful conversations and they felt good and I definatly felt Gods approval after them, even when they didn't turn out the way I would hope. Also this week I went on exchanges. which normally isn't too exciting. It's just part of missionary life and it just happens, but this time on the exchange I had a pr
