Visiting the North Mission

This week was super great!! It feels like it went by in two seconds!! So just a few things from this week! On Tuesday I went on exchanges with Elder Miller over to his team, and we saw some pretty great miracles!! So we went to the church intending to do some online proselyting and as Elder Miller is opening up the gate to the church a man walks by, so I start a conversation with him. The conversation then turned to the church building (which is really new) and I felt the prompting to offer him a tour, right then and there. So I did. And he accepted!!! So we just went in and started giving him a tour and talking!! He is pretty great. He and his family have just started going to a church a couple of weeks earlier, and are still trying to find one and he's walked by our church a bit and been curious. But anyways, at the end of the tour we talk with him for a bit more and ask if we can share the message of the restoration with him and how our church came to be and such, so we sit down and start teaching and talk about Joseph Smith and explain the Book of Mormon and it was just the classic picture perfect teaching experience including the invitation to be baptized if he finds out the Book of Mormon is true! I can't wait to hear about him more from Elder Miller in the future!

Then back in our area on Saturday we got to go with one of our youth investigators over the river (to the North Mission!! ) for a concert put on for investigators. It was Lexi Walker (a famous Mormon singer?? I didn't know her before but maybe some of you do?) and a Korean rapper that is a less active. That was super fun to spend time with him. But is was also super weird to hear not church music... hahaha It was hilarious to watch my mission president and his wife though who were a few rows in front and to the side of us.  πŸ˜‚ haha, good times. I'll send some pictures! I also got to see some of my 동기 [translates as siblings... I think he means friends from MTC] that went to the North Mission and that was cool too. But overall such a great and blessed week thanks to God and his blessings!! I cannot express how much I love being a missionary and a servant of the Lord!! It truly is the best!! I love you all!! Have a great summer!!

Love, Elder Lott

Question of the Week: Are South Koreans following the US/Korean summit preparations, or not really a big deal there?

Answer: It's big to some people. Really big, haha. Some people walk up to us and start talking to us about it because we're Americans and they chew us out when Trump does something they don't like and they're like "Talk to him!! Tell him to do this or this!!" It's actually kind of funny and then we have to explain to them that we can't talk to President Trump - we're missionaries and we actually don't really follow politics so we don't know what their talking about, haha. Some people are quite funny to listen to, haha πŸ˜‚

At a Lexi Walker concert for our investigators

At the concert!  You can see a little bit of how awkward it was
to listen to the rap music... It was weird but fun!

How they do political campaigns in South Korea, ha ha, I love it!
I wish it was like that in America. Literally the other day we walked out of the subway and the 1 and 2 candidates (They just go by number here, so that's weird but anyway) people were right next to each other and 1 had music playing and 2 was just dancing to it but holding up 2 on their hands instead of 1 haha. It was great how civil it all was. No fights. No riots. Just happily (and a bit awkwardly) dancing and supporting their chosen candidate, haha.
