Week of Miracles

I'm going to say it again and again over and over as the weeks go on but this week was amazing!!! It was the first week with Elder Malo and he's a great Elder and tons of fun to serve around! We hit the streets hard 전도'ing (proselyting) this week and saw some pretty great success from it! I'm excited meet with a lot of the people in the coming weeks that we met this last week! So to start off with miracle 1 of many. We were heading to go stickerboarding at 부천역 [Bucheon Station] and we leave the station and are walking to our meeting place when somebody walks up to me and he's super nice and we start talking. And we talk and talk and he's a theology student and he's heard a bit about our church but not a lot. But said he is really interested and we just continue to talk, and I ask him what he knows already and what he's interested in and he says the Book of Mormon. So we begin talking and explain it a bit and fill in the parts that he doesn't know about it and of course bear my testimony about it. Anyways, it was absolutely amazing!! Right after I finish testifying he says "감동 받았어요" ["I was impressed."] Like he got a really deep strong impression. whaaaa (: Super great and then we just continue talking and he wants to meet later to learn more so we exchange numbers. But the crazy thing happens later that night when he messages me on facebook and it turns out that we first met online all the way back in March when I was in 이천 [Icheon] and neither of us knew it at the time!! Ahhh crazy how the Lord works with His timing and other things.

And then another huge miracle that I'm going to have to water down and talk about later because of time is about a Mongolian member that we met on the street last night. He just moved here and his family is coming in a month and he was trying to find the church so they could attend here and he just so happened to run into us. So we took him to the church and showed him where it was and let him know about all the activities and such that he could come to (oh and he doesn't speak Korean or English so that added some other crazy aspects to the miracle) to help him learn Korean and get involved with the ward. Anyways I'll explain more about it later but for now that's all!!! I love you all and pray that you can see the Lords had in your lives everyday!! Because He is reaching out to each and every one of us every day.

Love Elder Lott

Question of the Week: How serious are South Koreans about following the World Cup and the South Korean team? [Mom note: Korea played in the first round of the 2018 World Cup, losing to Sweden 1-0, Mexico 2-1 and stunning Germany with a 2-0 win, but only the Sweden game had been played when we wrote.]

Answer: So before the first loss to Sweden it was huge!!! Bigger than any sporting event in America!! There were watching parties everywhere (even at the church!!) and it was insane!! Honestly the hardest temptation I've faced on my mission was to stay and watch it with the ward (and one of our investigators) but we left like good missionaries....😥 Literally just the feeling in the air and the excitement was something so different than what we have in America about sporting events and so strong it was insane!!!! But now since they've lost it's just been swept under the rug like it never happened to protect our pride. Literally you almost wouldn't know that anything was going on in the world after that first loss to Sweden haha.
